A new year demands new beginnings and also a new color of the year. Every year Pantone announces one color which will be selected as the color of that particular year with 10 other top running color shades. Surprisingly, last year was unusual and two color shades- Rose Quartz and Serenity made it to the PANTONE Shade Of The Year 2016.
Taking inspiration from nature’s and fresh beginnings, ‘GREENERY’ is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Unlike last few years, this year Pantone chose to go ahead with a bright color which symbolises ‘HOPE’. A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.
As this color is fully eccentric to spring, it can very smartly be chosen to be part of your fall wardrobe. Where some of you might not be welcoming to this color, for many of us it is time to rethink and happily accept the zesty color into our closet.
Pantone website themselves have given a chart to help you in pairing up this yellow green with other subtle shades which also includes last year’s Rose Quartz and serenity as well, just in case you felt carrying all green might make you look like a royal botanical garden.
Few other cues to take from the runway are to pick up statement neckpieces or bags in green and compliment them with your grays, blues, and whites. Another safer option is to choose the leafy printed pants or dresses like the ones shown in Marc Jacobs’s SS17 collection.
Now time is to stalk spring 2017 runway presentation of Balenciaga, Kors, and Gucci for inspiration and don’t forget to be more adventurous with your fashion choices and make a point to add one item in Greenery the next time you’re out to shop. Because, why not? Not only this will add some sense to your fashion trends instead will also keep you fashion forward.

Look one is using the cycle print shirt as a dress with complementing tan brogues and bag. For look two you will see me wearing the same shirt with artsy floral pants which are also currently trending. Elevated my whole look with the clutch, accessories and high heels.
