They are minimal and yet so powerful, I am talking about pastels today. The name comes from pastels, art media characteristic of this color family. The colors of this family are usually described as “soothing”, “soft”, “near neutral”, “milky”, “washed out”, “desaturated”, and lacking strong chromatic content. Pink, mauve, and baby blue are typical pastel colors.
Pastels are a classic spring staple and not even seasonal. You can them year after year and still can not get over them. When styled just right, they’re also super trendy and cool.
Specifically, when pastels are incorporated into the PANTONE Shades as the color of the year, then you must not think twice before adding them to your closet.
Styling pastels can at times be tricky but not unmanageable. You may choose one color and stick with it throughout your outfit and go out in a monochrome look or pair one pastel color with another pastel shade to give it a sophisticated look.
You may also keep the rest of the palette in your #ootd neutral and just add a pastel bag or shrug to add more grace to your look.
What more you can choose to go out with is pairing your pastels with brighter hues. No, that won’t look absurd instead it will brighten up your whole look for the perfect summer brunch.
Today, I have on me a pretty pastel sling bag from LAVIE. I have been a huge fan of the material Lavie uses in making their bags. I do not think twice before buying them.
So, I had a look at few slings from www.lavieworld.com and picked one very pretty pastel colored sling. The collection is wide is to choose from and I ended up buying this close to tiffany colored bag.
I played a little on the safer side. The thought was to give me a pretty, happy go lucky girl in pastels kind of look. Picked up a lace and pleated nude color dress resting in my closet from a long time. I paired them with my dual tone strappy stilettoes and then went ahead by slinging my Lavie sling for a brunch with my friends.
You can achieve the same look by shopping similar outfits on the links below. Meanwhile, have a look at my outfit.
