In a tête-à-tête,with the renowned designer hailing from Jaipur mentioned that his collection will be reinventing the conventional Maharaja style.

”You don’t have to be a Maharaja to look like a Maharaja”,says the owner of opulent ‘Rohit Kamra’ label; ‘My Collection will make you look like one”,he adds.

Keeping the traditional Indian Royalty and Glamour alive and giving it a new level by adding a touch of modernity to it,this is what the designer wanted to convey and very well featured in his evening and ceremonial wear at Amazon India Fashion Week #AIFWAW16.

It was his debut collection for AIFW though he did manage to leave a mark in the fashion week with his exquisite signature style evident in his collection.

Rohit has reinvented the look of classic silhouettes and has given a new avatar to Jodhpuri Jackets and Breeches. The signature style is established by the amalgamation of International Trends, Victorian Traditions and Indian Royalty. Handmade Jeweled Buttons, Brooches, Cuff Links made of precious stones like rubies, emeralds and semi precious stones are a collectors delight, more than often used for ceremonial and formal occasions.(extract from his site : ROHIT KAMRA)

The idea behind the designer collection was to portray a modern maharaja .You could very well notice modernised bandhgalas, hunter jackets, waistcoats, and slim-fit breeches. The fabrics, which have been used to make this collection, are flannel, wool, silk and linen but the one to notice was Rajasthan Khadi which was wool khadi made in Bikaner and Jaisalmer.

If you just thought this was enough, then wait! To balance the whole look – accessories and shoes were also added to collection by the label itself. One could see pure leather shoes, boots to artistic brooches and cuff links were adding grace and aura to the outfits.

Show closing was done by none other than very handsome Randeep Hooda, who looked none less than a rising Maharaja.
