People out there,now it’s time to switch your basics to ASICS. Yes,you heard me right.The brand which has created a buzz all across the world is now available in India as well.The SS16 ASICS Tiger footwear collection was first made available on in India.


The sports brand is available for both men and women, a total of approximately 55 shoe models, from the Spring Summer 2016 collection has been introduced and retail prices range is from Rs. 5999 to Rs. 12499.

At the event launch,Rajat Khurana, Director for ASICS India said, “Announcing ASICS Tiger in India is a mark of great accomplishment for our team, and we are excited to present a range of high-quality footwear to the street fashion-savvy market in India. ASICS Tiger products have the perfect blend of ASICS heritage technology to provide maximum support and modern designs for the fashion and style conscious audience. It was a strategic decision to enter the market via e-commerce keeping in mind the evolving buying patterns of consumers, especially the fast paced fashion-centric audience.”

ASICS Tiger revealed its 2016 global campaign, earlier this year, to push the boundaries of technology and design, between their iconic shoes and ASICS GEL technology. Placing emphasis on energy and lifestyle, the campaign imagery and the new footwear styles further declare what it means to be “born of a wild era”.

During the launch event which was organised at INFORMAL,Janpath;I was astonished to know about the new technology advancement for which ASICS Tiger is widely spoken about i.e their GEL LYTE shoe collection.The footwear is comfortable beyond imagination and comes is various designs and colors to choose from.These are a few of them to have a look at :


The GEL-KAYANO TRAINER EVO is based on the original GEL-KAYANO TRAINER. Its unique ‘MONOSOCK’ and characteristic ASICS stripe design is kept as the original while the upper is evolved to pursue a simplistic sporty look.


This heritage item is more industrial than futuristic. The masterpiece GEL-LYTE III model reflects the shoe’s original purpose of performance running footwear with high level of technology and function. The new design pays homage to the future with an industrial look inspired by space-age rockets and aircraft. The GEL-LYTE III was the basic running shoe introduced in 1990. The tongue was made of sponge, and its main characteristic was the original, laterally ‘SPLIT-TONGUE’ construction that cradled the arch. The unique design created a comfortable fit, as the tongue did not shift during movement.

The GEL-LYTE V was the basic running shoe introduced in 1993. The model featured ‘MONOSOCK’ construction that integrated a highly elastic tongue and leather upper, which improved the fit. A number of design variations were available, including nylon and suede models.



The core of the ASICS Tiger brand is Japanese technology. Re-launched in 2015, the ASICS Tiger brand was born in Japan and is targeted toward the global street fashion-savvy market. ASICS Tiger is a sports lifestyle brand that delivers both confidence and strength backed by ASICS’s heritage and technology, as well as the spirit to always push ahead.
While the new ASICS Tiger has been re-created with elements from American street fashion,the model remains true to its original form.
